India deplores killing of Indian national in Kabul
New Delhi [India], Aug 2 (ANI): India on Thursday condemned the killing of an Indian national in Afghanistan and said that the embassy in Kabul is in touch with Afghan authorities.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), in a statement, said that the Indian Embassy in Kabul is providing all the assistance for the repatriation of the mortal remains of the deceased.
"It is a matter of deep anguish that an Indian national, working for an international company, was kidnapped along with two of his colleagues from Malaysia and Macedonia in Kabul today," the MEA said.
"The Government condemns this incident in the strongest terms. The Indian Embassy in Kabul is in touch with the Afghan authorities and the company concerned in the matter," it added.
Earlier in the day, the Indian national along with two other foreign nationals was abducted and later killed by unknown gunmen in Kabul.
The three people, including a Malaysian and a Macedonian national, were allegedly kidnapped and their bodies were later found in Kabul's PD9 area, reported TOLO News.
As per reports, the victims were on their way to work in Pul-e-Charkhi area in PD9 in Kabul city, when they were kidnapped. (ANI)
