Gurugram: Muslim man forced to shave beard, 3 arrested

Gurugram (Haryana), August 2 [ANI]: Three people were arrested on Thursday after a Muslim man was allegedly forced to shave his beard and thrashed following an altercation in Gurugram's Sector 29.

An FIR was registered against the accused after the victim, Yunus filed a complaint in this regard.

Speaking on the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurugram (Crime) Sumit Kuhar said, "Three persons including the barber have been arrested by the police on the incident that happened on July 31. This is an isolated incident and no organization is involved in it."

This has come at a time when many political parties are cornering the Centre over rampant incidents of mob lynching, alleging that atrocities against the Muslim community are on a rise across the country.

In a recent incident, a 28-year-old Muslim man named Rakbar Khan was beaten to death by an agitated mob in Rajasthan's Alwar district on suspicion of cow smuggling.(ANI)
