Greater Noida buildings collapse: Rescue operations underway
Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 18 (ANI): Rescue operation is underway by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) in Greater Noida's Shah Beri village after two under-construction buildings collapsed on Tuesday.
Union Minister Mahesh Sharma, who reached the spot, said that 12 ambulances have been rushed to facilitate the operation.
He said, "Our priority right now is to save any life that is left. 12 ambulances are present here and all the hospitals nearby have been alerted. NDRF teams and dog squads are also present on the spot."
Meanwhile, Kumar Vineet, additional district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, said, "As of now, we don't know what happened. It is too early to say anything in this regard. Our motive right now is to save any life that is left. Rescue operations by NDRF are underway."
Several people are feared trapped under the debris. Police and rescue teams are present at the spot.
Soon after the mishap, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident and asked the District Magistrate to follow up with the National Disaster Response Force team and Police for relief measures and to ensure immediate rescue. (ANI)
