Congress will sweep Rajasthan assembly polls: Sachin Pilot
New Delhi [India], July 14 (ANI): Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Sachin Pilot on Saturday expressed confidence of his party sweeping upcoming the state legislative assembly elections. The Rajasthan assembly term ends on January 20, 2019.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with Pilot here today.
Speaking to ANI, Pilot said that the party workers across the state are all geared up for the polls.
Explaining the history of the assembly elections in the state, Pilot said that there has always been a direct fight between the Congress and the BJP.
"If one looks closely at the history, the elections in Rajasthan have always been fought between the Congress and the BJP only in the last four terms.
"Our party workers in the state have been working all day and night for the upcoming polls. I am confident that the Congress will win all 200 seats in the coming state assembly elections," Pilot said.
On alliance issue, Pilot said that there are no talks of alliance with any party currently.
"We are capable of defeating the BJP on all seats in Rajasthan. There are no talks of alliance with any specific party. However, in our meeting with Rahul Ji we explained him the ground situation and the strategy we could adopt in the given circumstances," said Pilot.
The Congress leader also added that under 'Mera Booth-Mera Gaurav' (My Booth- My Pride) programme his party is reaching out to the rural and urban poor.
"Mera Booth-Mera Gaurav programme will be continued in each division, district and each constituency in order to connect with the grass root level workers of the state till the assembly elections are over, " said Pilot. (ANI)
