Sakshi Maharaj, BJP MPfrom Unnao: It is difficult to accept that he has made such an immature remark. 10 years he occupied a constitutional post and never said anything like that. All of a sudden he feels insecure which is unfortunate. Since Modiji, Yogiji came to power no communal incident has taken place. I feel he is going to join some political party soon.

Meenakshi Lekhi, BJP MP: Now Hamid Ansari wants to be a leader of Muslims. All this while in office he never felt insecure. I always believed he was a well educated individual and a well informed bureaucrat. I feel he doesn’t read the data and facts available. His comments clearly look politically motivated.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, senior BJP leader: Someone sitting on such a high post and making such a statement is unfortunate. I don’t agree to what he has said and is disappointing. I am concerned as to what why made such remarks. Few incidents can’t make the entire country look like that. This is a negative approach.
