Gautam Gambhir At ABP Network's India@2047 Summit: Here's How It Went

At the India@2047 summit, Gautam Gambhir shared insights on his coaching journey, the challenges faced by Team India and his vision for the upcoming England tour and World Test Championship.

The India@2047 summit at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi brought a highly anticipated session, “Team India - All For One, One For All,” with former cricketer and current Team India Men’s Coach Gautam Gambhir. The session offered a unique insight into Gambhir’s journey as the coach, his vision for the future and his thoughts on leading India through challenging phases.

Gambhir, who has had a rollercoaster start to his coaching tenure, opened up about the highs and lows of his early days in charge, including the tough defeats to Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia. However, 2025 has been a significant turnaround for the 2011 World Cup hero, as he guided India to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory in Dubai, reigniting hopes for the Indian cricket team's resurgence.

In a candid conversation with Megha Prasad, Gambhir reflected on the team’s journey over the past year, including the challenges of transitioning from player to coach, the balancing act of handling pressure and his philosophy on leadership.

The session started with Gambhir addressing the viewers on how 'few' commentators and experts have left no opportunity in criticising him and his tenure as Indian cricket team head coach.

The 2011 Cricket World Cup winner also cleared the air off rumours of him having a rift with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Turning his attention to India’s successful ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign, Gambhir raised concerns over experts questioning the prize money of the team.

Throughout the session, Gautam Gambhir addressed several questions and stunned the viewers by stating that he does not miss Kolkata Knight Riders.

The former Indian cricketer is a two-time IPL winner with the franchise (2012 & 2014), both as captain of the side, and led the franchise to their third title whilst being their mentor.

Gambhir concluded the session with an interesting rapid fire round, where he stated that 'all perceptions created about him are fake'.
