Ideas Of India 2025: Why Did Orry Not Go To Kumbh Mela? 'The Liver' Cites A 'Small' Reason
Ideas Of India 2025: Orry recently revealed the reason behind his absence from the Kumbh Mela, citing concerns for his personal safety.

Popular social media figure Orry recently explained why he skipped the Kumbh Mela 2025, one of the world's largest religious gatherings. Orry pointed out "security risks" while speaking at the ABP Network Ideas of India Summit in a session titled ‘‘Changing the Media Game.’’
According to Orry, his small stature makes him more susceptible to danger in busy public places. He said, "I thought that (going to Kumbh Mela) but that could have been a security risk and safety risk so I didn't want to. Because I'm a very small person as in I'm 5'4 and a lot of times what happens is I get squashed in public."
"I was never the type of person to carry security. But like after a while I had to start because people would just come and pick me up and walk off," Orry added.
Orry On Unwanted Physical Contact at Public Events
Orry brought attention to the problem of unwanted physical contact by bringing up an instance involving Ed Sheeran's concert in Mahalakshmi Race Course, Mumbai. He shared, "I was at the Ed Sheeran concert, and I’m a very friendly person and see, I’m a boy, so people think they can touch me. The whole story is, ‘Orry touches you, you touch Orry.’ That’s a thing, right? So, I’m at the Ed Sheeran concert in Mahalakshmi Race Course, Mumbai, and this large man just picks me up like this, puts me over his shoulder, and walks off."
“And I’m like screaming hysterically, ‘Help, put me down, put me down!’ Everyone’s laughing because they thought I knew this man because he so casually picked me up and started walking,” he added.
Looking back, Orry noted how men and women handle similar situations differently. He said, "After that, I realised if you're a girl, no boy is going to touch you 'cause that's harassment, but because I'm a boy, the public feels they can touch me and they've seen me touch everyone so they really think this."
