From His Detention During BPSC Protest To Plans On Political Debut: Khan Sir Speaks At Ideas Of India 2025
At the session themed 'The 21st Century Indian: Learning To Survive', Khan Sir was asked by Author Chetan Bhagat about how he landed in the BPSC protest and if he plans to join politics in future.

Ideas Of India 2025: Educator and YouTuber Faizal Khan, famously known as Khan Sir, spoke at the ABP Network's Ideas of India 2025, where he shared his side of the student protest against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), which has been going on since last year. He also shared his take on joining politics in future.
At the session themed 'The 21st Century Indian: Learning To Survive', Khan Sir was asked by Author Chetan Bhagat about how he landed in the protests with the students. "Last time you met me you told me that you left a Rs 100 crore offer, and now you reached jail in Patna. How did this happen?" the celebrated Author asked Khan.
To this Khan replied that his relationship with his students is not merely a business transaction where one collects the fees and renders services, but that of a parent-child.
"If students are protesting then I have to be there. It is not like I am there just to take fees like a business deal. A student touches the feet of a teacher. That relation is like a guardian and student. If a dog bites a kid or he feels there is a risk he rushes to his parents. Similarly, when students feel that the system is doing something wrong with them, they come to the teacher...," he said.
He further said that the only motive behind the protests is to tell the world know about the injustice the students are facing in Bihar. "It is not in my hand to give them victory but at least I can ensure that I did my best for them according to my capabilities...The case is in court right now and we have a lot of evidence and the verdict will be in our favour," Khan said.

How Did Khan Sir Land Up In Police Station?
During the interview, Chetan Bhagat asked the Educator about how he landed up in police station after partcipating in BPSC protest.
"We were at the Gardanibagh protest site and we were getting late and wanted to go to the BPSC office. There were 3-4 men standing at a place and I asked them where the office is. They then pulled out their walkie talkies and asked where the police force was... BPSC had agreed to our conditions at that time, but they changed later. They agreed to take a common exam for all the students, but on Jan 4 it conducted a re-exam and a separate exam at 22 other examination centres. They shouldn't lie," he said.
The author also mentioned the rumour that Khan was arrested, to which the latter clarified that he was not arrested, he was detained and then when our demands were met, they left.
Will Khan Sir Join Politics?
Writer Chetan Bhagat then asked Khan Sir that when someone joins a protest and speaks against the government, then somewhere there are chances it might be considered political as one is protesting against a government entity. "So isn't it considered political when someone prominent like you joins protest?"
To this Khan Sir replied that in India politics is considered supreme but the fight is not with any government, and if it were so, protestors would have openly taken the name of that party or leader.
"Wherever the mistake is happening, we tell that independent authority, there is BPSC in Bihar, we are telling them to do justice to us. We are not pointing fingers at them but showing who has done the wrong thing. Politics is something that can be done openly," Khan Sir said.
Chetan Bhagat then asked Khan sir whether he will openly do politics, citing Prashant Kishore's example, to which he replied that this question is often asked to him.
"We need to understand that one person alone cannot change 140 crore people, why don't we talk about when the 140 crore people will raise their voice for their rights. During the time of Corona, a person made the PM stand in the queue and said that if you are late then we will get the vaccine first. Here we cannot make the head of a village stand in the queue. Whereas we have the oldest democracy here," he said.
