ABP Ideas Of India: Aaditya Thackeray To Delve On Cooperative Federalism And Rise Of Regional Powers
ABP Network is hosting its first 'Ideas of India' Summit, which will take place in Mumbai on March 25-26.
New Delhi: In a vast country like India, cooperative federalism has been the guiding light in the relations between the Centre and different states, where the regional parties come into play.
The rollout of the Goods and Services Tax and the formation of the Niti Aayog by abolishing the Planning Commission are some of the recent examples of cooperative federalism.
However, there has been a growing chorus by regional parties governing different states accusing the Centre of working against the principles of cooperative federalism.
While there has been a rise of regional parties, they are yet to be a force to reckon with on the national stage. Only time will tell if they can acquire the heft to pose a challenge to mainstream parties with issues that lie beyond their backyards.
The ABP Network's "Wildstone presents Ideas of India Summit" will see Aaditya Thackeray, Maharashtra Tourism Minister and son of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, delve upon the topic "Cooperative federalism | The Rise of Regions: Vision India@2047". In 2047, India will celebrate 100 years of independence.
Watch the session LIVE on abplive.com on March 25 at 3.15 pm. Journalist Romana Isar Khan will chair the session.
