India Logs Nearly 50,000 Fresh Covid Cases, 13% Lesser Than Yesterday. Active Cases Down To 6 Lakh 

Meanwhile, after the government approved the vaccination for children between the age of 15 and 18 years, nearly 172.29 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country.

New Delhi: India has reported 50,407 fresh covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a daily positivity rate of 3.48 percent. The death toll recorded in the last 24 hours is 804. 

1,36,962 recoveries have been recorded in the last 24 hours with a recovery rate of 97.37 percent. The active cases in the country now stand at 6,10,443 which constitutes 1.43 percent of the total cases so far.

Kerala is still recording the highest number of cases. Though the daily cases dipped to 16,012 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The state recorded 27 fatalities during the same time. 

Maharashtra recorded 5,455 fresh covid-19 cases with 63 fatalities in the last 24 hours. Mumbai on the other hand recorded 429 cases with two deaths.

Delhi recorded 977 new covid cases with 12 deaths in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate stands at 1.73 percent.

Karnataka logged 3,976 fresh covid cases with 41 deaths in the last 24 hours. West Bengal on the other hand recorded 767 new covid-19 cases with 27 fatalities in the last 24 hours. 

Due to the decline in covid-19 cases, the restrictions have been lowered in many states, and the educational institutions have also been opened for all students.
