Covid Update: Delhi Logs 920 Fresh Cases, Mumbai Sees Dip In Positivity Rate To Below 1%

New Delhi: Delhi on Saturday recorded 920 new COVID-19 cases and 13 fatalities, with the positive rate dropping to 1.68 per cent, as per the data released by the municipal health department.

The number of COVID-19 tests performed a day ago was 54,913, according to the report.
On Friday and Thursday, Delhi recorded 977 and 1,104 cases, respectively, with a positive rate of 1.73 per cent and 2.09 per cent, and 12 deaths on both days.
After reaching a record high of 28,867 on January 13, the number of daily cases in Delhi has started declining.
On January 14, the city reported a positive rate of 30.6 per cent, the highest during the present pandemic wave. It only took 10 days for daily instances to fall below 10,000.
Mumbai Covid-19 Tally
In 2022, the daily positivity rate in Mumbai fell below 1% for the first time.
On Saturday, the city recorded a 0.88 per cent daily positive rate, with 349 cases reported out of 39,592 tests.

The last time the city recorded instances below 1% was on December 21, 2021, when 327 cases out of 37,973 were reported, resulting in a positive rate of 0.86 per cent.
With 349 new infections and three fatalities in Mumbai, the total tally of covid-19 cases is 16,682. The city's total number of cases is 1,052,844. There are 1,030,407 recoveries, with a 1.58 per cent mortality rate.
The hospitalisation rate in the city is 2.9 per cent.
Furthermore, since the outbreak began, the city has had no sealed buildings or containment zones on record.
According to city officials, this is a definite indicator that the third wave has gone. According to records, the BMC sealed approximately 66,000 buildings or floors before releasing them. Over 2,700 confinement zones have been made available.
