The OPD services in AIIMS Hospital and all centres will continue to function with restricted registrations limited to only prior appointment patients (new and follow-up).

New Delhi: Amid growing threat of the Omicron variant and surge in Covid-19 cases, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital has temporarily stopped all routine inpatient admissions and all routine procedures/non-essential surgeries.

The circular issued by AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr D.K. Sharma also directs all speciality clinics to be stopped for the time being and speciality clinic follow up patients will be registered within follow-up appointment slots only.

The OPD services in AIIMS Hospital and all centres will continue to function with restricted registrations limited to only prior appointment patients (new and follow-up).

Meanwhile, the OPD of Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center (JPNATC) will shift to the fifth floor of Old RAK OPD in the main hospital with effect from Saturday.

“The Computer Facility and MRS are requested to ensure that all patients booked for appointments are intimidated about the change of venue and their date of appointment is transposed into the e-hospital software,” states the circular issued by the Additional Medical Superintendent, ANI reported.

Earlier on Thursday, Delhi logged 15,097 fresh infections, pushing the active caseload to 31,498 and the cumulative tally to 14,89,463.

Amid the spike in Covid-19 cases, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has decided to impose weekend curfew in the national capital.

The curfew will remain in effect from 10 p.m. on Friday till 5 a.m. on Monday. Except for essential services, no one will be allowed to move out of their homes for any other purpose.
