Coronavirus In India: The Covid-19 figures for India have been a bit relieving for India lately as the daily cases count has seen a significant dip over past month, as against the peak of nearly 1 lakh daily cases in August.

On Tuesday, India saw nearly 29,000 fresh cases in 24 hours, the lowest mark since the peak time.  On Thursday however, the daily spike in infections and fatalities saw a surge. Over 45k new infections were recorded and 585 fatalities were reported in 24 hours span. 


What remains area of concern?

The unabated spike in the daily caseload of the New Delhi is the main cause of concern for the country as the national capital is undergoing what can be termed as the third phase of the pandemic. The highest single-day spike of 8593 cases till date here was recorded on November 11 when 85 fatalities were recorded. The number of containment zones in Delhi increased to 4,449 on Tuesday from 4,430 on Monday.

The sudden spike in cases comes amid the festive season and rising pollution level. While Durga Puja celebrations ended on October 25, Diwali fell on Saturday and Chhath is on November 20-21.

ICMR Approves Dry Swab RT-PCR Method For Covid Detection
The simple and fast method of dry swab-direct RT-PCR, developed by CSIR's constituent lab Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, for scaling up coronavirus detection has now been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research, the apex body announced on Friday.

Details Of PM's vaccine centre visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a three-city visit on Saturday to personally review Covid vaccine development and manufacturing process. Accordingly, he will visit the Zydus Biotech Park in Ahmedabad, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune

In Hyderabad, the Prime Minister will go around the facilities in Bharat Biotech to understand the vaccine development process and the preparations to manufacture the doses in large numbers once the vaccine gets approval from the authorities concerned.

Bharat Biotech officials will explain to the Prime Minister the various aspects of the vaccine development and their rollout plans. The company is currently conducting Phase III clinical trials of the vaccine at various centres across the country. Before reaching Hyderabad, the Prime Minister will be visiting the facilities of Zydus Cadila in Ahmedabad where ZyCoV-D is being developed and the Serum Institute of India facilities in Pune where the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is being manufactured.

3,966 more people test Covid positive in Kerala

On Friday, 3,966 people were found to be Covid positive after 39,108 samples were tested, said Kerala Health Minister K.K.Shailaja. A statement issued here said 4,544 people recovered, taking the total number of recoveries to 5,21,522.
