A Nintendo Game Boy Made Of LEGO? From Available Game Cartridges To Price, All You Need To Know

LEGO’s Game Boy is more than a static model. It includes three brick-built game cartridges: Tetris, Super Mario Land, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Nintendo fans and brick-building enthusiasts have something new to look forward to this August. LEGO has unveiled a nostalgic addition to its expanding lineup of video game-themed creations: the LEGO ICONS Game Boy set. Inspired by the original 1989 Game Boy model, this detailed kit aims to rekindle memories of long hours spent on pixelated adventures.

With working cartridge slots and tributes to iconic titles like Tetris, the set offers more than just a display piece. Whether you grew up with Nintendo or simply appreciate the artistry behind classic tech, the LEGO Game Boy might be a satisfying addition to your collection.

An Icon, Brick-ified

The LEGO ICONS Game Boy model draws inspiration from the handheld gaming console that launched in 1989 and transformed portable play. The set aims to stay true to the original’s proportions and design, allowing fans to relive the iconic look and feel in a new format. The kit measures over three inches high, five inches wide, and one inch deep, making it a compact but detailed recreation. A printed screen panel features Tetris, adding a visual nod to the game that defined the Game Boy experience for many.

LEGO’s version is more than a static model. The Game Boy set includes three brick-built game cartridges: Tetris, Super Mario Land, and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

Each cartridge can be inserted into the build, emulating the function of the original hardware. There’s also a cartridge storage case and a display stand, both constructed from LEGO bricks. While it doesn’t function as a console, the physical interactivity of inserting cartridges gives the model an added layer of engagement.

Availability And Release Details

The LEGO ICONS Game Boy set is priced at $59.99 (roughly Rs 5,200) and will be available starting August 1 on the official LEGO website and in LEGO retail stores. It’s part of LEGO’s growing effort to celebrate gaming culture through premium model kits.

According to LEGO, the build is suitable for adults, with an age rating of 18+. The set consists of 540 pieces and comes with detailed instructions, so even casual builders can enjoy putting it together. As of now, pricing details remain in line with LEGO’s premium adult-oriented sets.
