Anand Mahindra 'Unmoved' By Citadel, Praises Priyanka Chopra: 'She Puts Most Of Our Male Action Heroes In The Shade'
Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra on Tuesday took to Twitter to praise Priyanka Chopra’s performance in her latest series, ‘Citadel’.
New Delhi: Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra on Tuesday took to Twitter to praise Priyanka Chopra’s performance in her latest series, ‘Citadel’. Though he liked Priyanka’s performance, Anand Mahindra was 'unmoved’ with the show's first two episodes and called it a ‘typical Russo brothers OTT plot.’
Calling Priyanka a 'fauji brat', he said she puts most male action heroes in the shade.
Mahindra took to Twitter, where he reacted to a promotional video of 'Citadel' which shows Priyanka as agent Nadia Sinh performing some action stunts.
He tweeted: "Caught the first episodes of Citadel over the weekend. Was left unmoved by the typical Russo brothers OTT plot but seeing @priyankachopra as an action hero was a revelation. She puts most of our male action heroes in the shade."
"Fauji brats are famous for being ambitious & adaptive & she fits that bill. You have to hand it to her: she is clearly living life on her own terms & taking on the world, one step at a time. More power to her..." he added.

Created by Russo Brothers' AGBO and showrunner David Weil, the first two episodes of the six-episode series premiered on April 28. Now one episode will be launching weekly through May 26. It premiered in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
The series got a lukewarm response from critics and audiences alike, with many praising Priyanka Chopra’s performance but are left underwhelmed by the script and the execution.

ABP Live's review of the first two episodes read, "Citadel's narrative isn't really its strongest point. You usually have a good idea of what will happen next. For a show marketed as a spy thriller, predictability is a curse, and Citadel suffers as a result. Although the story has many twists and turns, you won't be on the edge of your seat or forced to sit up. The action scenes and the outstanding cinematography, however, make up for the lack of an exciting and suspenseful storyline. 'Citadel' and its subsequent series traverse the globe with interconnected stories. Each Citadel series is locally created, produced, and filmed in-region, and stars top talent, forming a distinct global franchise. Series are already underway in Italy and India, respectively, starring Matilda De Angelis, Varun Dhawan, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
