There has been speculation that actor Rupali Ganguly is behind Alisha Parveen’s exit from the popular show Anupamaa. Addressing the rumours, Rupali has clarified that she has no involvement in casting decisions.
Rupali Ganguly Addresses the Allegations
In an interview with ABP, Rupali dismissed claims of her involvement in Alisha Parveen’s departure from the show, where Alisha played her on-screen daughter, Raahi.
“I have no authority over casting decisions or other major show developments. Such matters are entirely handled by Rajan Shahi and the channel. I’ve always prioritised professionalism and dedicated myself to this show for the last five years,” she stated.
She also refuted allegations of insecurity and emphasized her distance from “backstage politics.”
Notably, Alisha Parveen has not accused Rupali of being the reason for her exit.
Multiple Exits from Anupamaa
The show has seen several significant departures recently. Actor Sudhanshu Pandey, who played Vanraj Shah, left after a successful four-year run. Following the 15-year leap in the storyline, actors Gaurav Khanna, Nidhi Shah, and Kunwar Amar Singh also exited the series. Alisha Parveen, introduced as Raahi in October, is the latest to leave and will be replaced by Adrija Roy.
Rupali’s Personal Controversies
Earlier this year, Rupali was embroiled in controversy when her stepdaughter, Esha Verma, made allegations against her. A 2020 post by Esha resurfaced online, accusing Rupali of being responsible for breaking her parents' marriage and of threatening Esha and her mother.
In response, Rupali sent a ₹50 crore defamation notice to Esha, stating that the allegations had “damaged her reputation, violated her dignity, and adversely impacted her career, resulting in substantial financial losses.” Following this, Esha deleted all related posts from her social media and made her Instagram account private.
