Anupamaa: Gaurav Khanna To Enter Show As Rupali Ganguly's On-Screen College Friend
Gaurav Khan will be seen in an important role in Star Plus' 'Anupamaa'.
Mumbai: Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey starrer ‘Anupamaa’ has managed to keep the viewers hooked to their television sets with its drama-packed episodes. The show, which is the Hindi remake of Bengali serial ‘Sreemoyee’, has been topping the TRP charts since a long time. At a time when many newly launched shows have failed to strike a chord with the fans, ‘Anupamaa’ has been successful in grabbing eyeballs.
New Entry In Anupamaa
Speculations were rife that the likes of Ram Kapoor, Arshad Warsi and Ronit Roy are in contention to play Anupamaa’s college friend in the show. According to a report in a leading daily, the makers have finalised a popular TV actor to play a meaty role in the show.
Gaurav Khanna, who has been part of shows like ‘Yeh Pyaar Na Hoga Kam’, ‘Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka’, will be seen as Anuj Kapadia, a report in Times Of India said.
A source close to the show told TOI that Gaurav is preparing for his role since some time now. The ‘Chandra Nandini’ actor, who is quite excited to be a part of the show, will soon start shooting, the report added.
On the professional front, Gaurav was last seen in a full-fledged role in Chandragupta Maurya. He played the role of Seleucus I Nicator in the historical show.
Anupamaa Cast
While Rupali Ganguly is seen playing the titular role, Sudhanshu Pandy is essaying the role of her on-screen husband. The show also stars Madalsa Sharma, Paras Kalnawat, Nidhi, Shah, Anagha Bhosale, Alpana Buch and Muskaan Bamne in key roles.
Anupamaa Tops TRP Charts Again
The grand finale of ‘Indian Idol 12’ and ‘Anupamaa’ bagged the joint number one spot with a rating of 3.7. The daily soap, which replaced ‘Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke’, has recently completed 350 episodes.
‘Ghum Hain Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 11’ and ‘Imlie’ have also performed quite well as per the latest set of BARC TRP ratings.
