Raksha Bandhan Box Office Collection Day 2: Akshay Kumar's Film Sees A Decline In Ticket Sales, Earns 6.40 cr On Friday
Raksha Bandhan's box office collection declined on Friday. Nevertheless, despite the decline, it was still able to do better than Amir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
New Delhi: The anticipation around Bollywood star Akshay Kumar's newly released film, ‘Raksha Bandhan,’ is significant; nevertheless, this has not been converted into great sales at the box office. The profits from the picture are going down. Nevertheless, despite the decline, it was still able to do better than Amir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Raksha Bandhan’s Day 1 was not sufficient to place the film among the top five biggest openings of the year. That film grossed a little more than Rs 8 crore on its opening day but declined on the second day.
Akshay Kumar has had a year that is nothing but disappointing. After two huge disappointments, namely ‘Bachchan Paandey’ and ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, all of the expectations were set on his family-friendly film ‘Raksha Bandhan’ to bring the public to the movie halls.
As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, the film minted 6.40 cr on Friday. He tweeted, “#RakshaBandhan declines on Day 2... National chains remain extremely low... Mass belt is driving its biz... 2-day total is underwhelming... Needs to have a miraculous turnaround from Sat-Mon... Thu 8.20 cr, Fri 6.40 cr. Total: ₹ 14.60 cr. #India biz.”
The narrative of the film directed by Aanand L. Rai centers on the lives of an ordinary man, portrayed by Akshay Kumar, and his four sisters, played by Sadia Khateeb, Sahejmeen Kaur, Smrithi Srikanth, and Deepika Khanna. This is family-friendly entertainment that focuses on the relationship between a brother and his sisters but it was unable to connect with the audience in the way that was anticipated.
The screenplay of the movie was written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. The movie is being produced by Colour Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, and Alka Hiranandani, with Cape Of Good Films serving as an associate producer.
