New Delhi: Zoya Akhtar's take on the popular Archies comics is here. The trailer of 'The Archies' is out. Starring an ensemble cast headed by star kids, Agastya Nanda, Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor characterizing the three leads: Archies, Veronica and Betty respectively, the trailer looks like a modern mix of old and new.
Opening in Riverdale, 'The Archies' looks dreamy, other-worldly and a slice-of-human history not known so well.
The musical looks and feels like a Archies novel especially with the use of font that the Archies comics used getting translated to reality in the film's promotional stuff.
'Archies' trailer also shows the angst of the young gang wanting to do something despite having lived 25% of their life. As they reckon changing the world in the face of commercialisation and progress, 'The Archies' looks like a different film that has something to say, despite being rooted in fiction.

'The Archies' also stars Vedang Raina as Reggie, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Dot as Ethel Muggs and Yuvrah Menda as Dilton Doiley.
The film also marks the Bollywood debut of most of its star cast, including Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan, late Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's daughter Khushi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda.
Earlier this year, the teaser of 'The Archies' released on Netflix event TUDUM in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the time, Zoya Akhtar told Mid-Day at an event in TUDUM, "Why do you think that? They're all Indian. This is kind of reverse (racism). Are you saying fair Indians are not Indians? How do we define what an Indian looks like? It could be Hrithik Roshan, it could be Mr. Rajinikanth, it could be Diljit Dosanjh, it could be Mary Kom. That's the beauty of India. There are a lot of Indians that are light-skinned."
