Samay Raina's roast of Kusha Kapila a few months ago made it to headlines on Ashish Solanki's show for being offensive. Now, months after the controversial roast that angered many of Kusha's fans, the comedian has given a shoutout to Kusha in the members-only episode of his show India’s Got Latent.
When Samay mentioned Kusha at India's Got Latent
In the latest episode, which also featured YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who has sparked another level of controversy, Ashish Chanchlani, and The Rebel Kid AKA Apoorva Makhija were present. Samay jokingly introduced Apoorva, saying, "Prajakta Koli from Meesho," to which Apoorva was quick to respond, "Prajakta Koli will never abuse you to your face." Samay then fired back and said, "Yes, but Kusha Kapila would," before adding, “Love you, Kusha yaar,” at the end in a friendly manner.

What happened between Kusha and Samay in Pretty Good Roast?
During Season 1 of the comedy series Pretty Good Roast Show, Kusha was part of a roasting session alongside other comedians. However, things took an ugly turn when Samay cracked jokes about Kusha's marriage and her divorce from Zorawar. The comedian began roasting Kusha by calling her a 'gold-diger' and took a dig at her divorce, saying, "Kusha has a female dog, who stays with her half the time, and during the other half, remains happy. Just give the dog to Zorawar. Let him have at least one b**ch in his life,” he said in Hindi.
After his 'alleged' joke, many fans questioned his line of commentary in the roast, stating he crossed the line.
Later, Kusha reacted to the controversy in a post and wrote, "Jokes weren’t shared beforehand (as is done in all roast formats in the West), so I had no idea what was in store for me. Maybe I should have asked for a script and known better, but since friends were involved, I didn’t. Rookie mistake. While I endured some of the really raspy jokes in front of a live audience and technicians, I absolutely was not okay with it being played for millions of people, since some jokes straight-up dehumanized me. It was shockingly unkind." Soon after the post, she blocked Samay on social media.
