Kakuda trailer: The trailer of Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Saqib Saleem starrer Kakuda was released on Tuesday. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film is a horror comedy.

Kakuda is about Sunny (played by Saqib Saleem) is head over heels in love with Sonakshi Sinha’s Indira. The newlyweds move to the quaint village of Ratodi but soon find themselves cursed by Kakuda. Sunny, distracted, forgets to open a small door for Kakuda at 7:15 pm on their wedding night, unleashing a vengeful ghost. Kakuda punishes the men of the house by causing a hump on their back that grows until their demise on the thirteenth day. With Sunny's life at risk, Indira turns to Victor, an eccentric ghost hunter played by Riteish Deshmukh.

In one of the scenes in the trailer, Riteish humorously critiques popular horror comedies like ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ and ‘Stree,’ remarking on how boring ghosts have become. The trailer culminates in an intense showdown, with Deshmukh’s character facing off against a monstrous Kakuda.

Director Aditya Sarpotdar, fresh off the success of his supernatural horror comedy ‘Munjya,’ expressed excitement about ‘Kakuda.’ He shared, “The trailer is just a glimpse of the unique folklore we’ve created. This film is a labor of love, blending horror and comedy in a way that keeps audiences hooked. I can’t wait for viewers to dive into the quirky tale of Ratodi village and its chilling legend. It’s going to be a fun, frightful, and unforgettable experience.”

Riteish Deshmukh echoed this enthusiasm, stating, “I’m thrilled to be part of the eccentric world of 'Kakuda.' Playing Victor, an unconventional ghost hunter, allowed me to explore new aspects of my acting. ‘Kakuda’ is set to premiere on ZEE5 on July 12.
