Bigg Boss OTT 2 Garnered 10 Crore Unique Viewers, Finale Episode Had 72 Lakh Concurrent views, 25 Crore Votes

New Delhi: 'Bigg Boss OTT 2' concluded on August 14, with Elvish Yadav creating history and becoming the first wildcard entry to win Bigg Boss. Apart from this, another record was broken for the streaming platform JioCinema. As per data provided by JioCinema, the season was watched by over 10 crore unique viewers with nearly 3,000 crore minutes of watch time, making it the most streamed entertainment property next to the IPL. Twenty-three lakh viewers streamed the finale episode. The finale episode also got a peak concurrent viewership of 72 lahks on the streaming platform. 

According to Hindustan Times, 25 crore votes were received during the Live voting during the finale for the two finalists - Elvish and Abhishek Malhan. 

As per a press statement from Jio Cinema, the show got 245 crore video views and 540 crore votes across the two months. The statement claimed the show to be the highest viewership for a live-streamed event in India after IPL.

It was a close contest between Elvish Yadav and Abhishek Malhan as the two have cultivated a huge fan following for themselves with Elvish’s army also crashing down the ‘Bigg Boss’ ‘Systum’ at one point of the show with their voting. Elvish entered the show in its fourth week with Aashika Bhatia, who was evicted in just the second week.

Apart from Elvish and Abhishek, the top 5 in the Salman Khan-hosted show included Pooja Bhatt, Bebika Dhurve and Manisha Rani. 

After the show, a video of Elvish was doing the rounds on social media, where he was seen bragging about gaining 28 million votes in  15 minutes.  In the video, Yadav is in his hotel room with his friends and he is seen saying, "Saara scene khatam hua, main andar gaya toh jo Jio ke head hain, jiska poora show hai, maalik jo hai, unhone bola, 'Aapko pata hai 15 minutes main kitne vote aaye aapke liye?' Maine poocha kitne, toh unhone kaha '280 million' (After everything was over, I went inside and the head of Jio, who runs the show and is the owner of the show, asked me, 'Do you know how many votes you received in 15 minutes?' I asked how many. He said I got 280 million votes)."

As the winner of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’, Elvish took the cash prize of Rs 25 lakh.
