Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Wife Aaliya Confirms The Actor Reached Out For Settlement, Says They Will Be 'Divorced Soon'
Actor Nawazuddin’s wife, Aaliya Siddiqui on Tuesday confirmed that the actor has reached out for settlement and the estranged couple is finally heading towards a divorce.
New Delhi: Actor Nawazuddin’s wife, Aaliya Siddiqui on Tuesday confirmed that the actor has reached out for settlement and the estranged couple is finally heading towards a divorce. Nawaz had sued his ex-wife and brother in a defamation case for Rs 100 crore.
In a conversation with ETimes Aaliya confirmed the settlement news and said, “Nawazuddin has reached out for a settlement but I haven’t responded to the same yet. Divorce will happen, that’s for sure and I will also be fighting for the custody of both my kids. Nawaz has also filed for custody but I will not let that happen. Both my kids want to stay with me and don’t want to live with him.”
She also revealed that she is currently staying in a rented apartment with her kids and she has to vacate it soon. ““I am currently staying in a rented apartment, which I had to vacate by March 30, but I requested for a one month extension as I am unable to find another accommodation. Societies are refusing to give me property on rent because of this dispute,” she was quoted as saying by ETimes
When quizzed about the house that Nawazuddin and she own, Aaliya told ETimes, “That place too is on rent and we cannot suddenly ask the tenant to break the contract and leave. But hopefully all troubles will end soon and we can live at peace in our small home”
Nawazuddin and Aaliya Siddiqui have been engaged in a legal battle for more than a month. Aaliya levelled serious allegations against the actor, including rape charges and throwing her and their kids out of the house. Nawaz also replied to her claims in a statement alleging her of doing this for money.
Married in 2009, the couple has been in the limelight for more than a month, hurling allegations at each other on various domestic and personal issues and their children, daughter Shora and son Yaani.
In January 2022, Nawazuddin's mother filed a police complaint against Aaliya for allegedly trespassing into the actor's home and she lodged a counter-complaint against her mother-in-law alleging domestic violence.
