Monalisa Bhosle will play the lead role opposite Amit Rao, brother of Rajkummar Rao, who is making his Bollywood debut with this film. Directed by Sanoj Mishra, known for ‘The Diary of West Bengal’, the film is already generating buzz.

Monalisa, who spent years selling flowers in Maheshwar, Khargone district, is now ready to begin shooting for her debut film in February. Director Sanoj Mishra recently met with Monalisa and her family to discuss the project. While the specifics of their conversation remain under wraps, both Monalisa and Mishra have kept details of their discussions private. The director took to Instagram to share a video announcing the exciting new project.

“Bahut hi innocent log hain yeah, banjare hai! I was impressed with her innocence, simplicity and natural looks but what followed was horrible and so disturbing. So, I searched for her and met her parents and family members about the film and all aspects. Now, I have more responsibility to present her and make her career. I’m starting her workshop in Indore for a fortnight and after that we will shift her to Mumbai where the workshop will continue,” Sanoj told HT City.
