Sonam Kapoor Criticises RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's Divorce Comment, Calls It ‘Regressive and Foolish’

While addressing RSS workers recently, chief Mohan Bhagwat said that divorce cases are found more in “educated and affluent” families nowadays as education and affluence bring arrogance along, which results in families falling apart.

New Delhi: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers in Ahmedabad on Sunday (February 16). While adressing the RSS troop along with their family members, Bhagwat talked about divorce. He said, the divorce cases are found more in “educated and affluent” families nowadays as education and affluence bring arrogance along, which results in families falling apart. He also added that there is no alternative to a Hindu society in India. Mohan Bhagwat's divorce comment has irked Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor who has slammed him on social media. The 'Neerja' actress took to her Twitter account today (February 17) and criticised RSS Chief calling his divorce statements 'regressive' and 'foolish'. Reacting on the same, Sonam tweeted, "Which sane man speaks like this? Regressive foolish statements." People fight over trifle issues. The cases of divorce are more in educated and affluent families, because with education and affluence comes arrogance, as a result of which families fall apart. The society also falls apart because society is also a family," Bhagwat was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the RSS, news agency PTI reports. Coming back Sonam Kapoor, she was last seen in Abhishek Sharma's 'The Zoya Factor' opposite Dulquer Salmaan. She will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh's next film which will be the Hindi remake of the 2011 Korean film, Blind. 'Chhapaak' actor Vikrant Massey will feature alongside Sonam in the upcoming film.
