Amid Adipurush Controversy, Kriti Sanon Chooses To Focus On 'Cheers & Claps'

“Today I know why Kattappa killed Baahubali.. because he knew that Prabhas will play Lord Rama in Adipurush,” a user jokingly remarked.

New Delhi: As 'Adipurush' continues to attract controversy for multiple reasons, Kriti Sanon reacted to the criticism around the film by focusing on the positives around it. 'Adipurush' features Kriti Sanon, Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film has been facing flak for dialogues, screenplay, representation of characters like Lord Hanuman and Raavan among others. In such an atmosphere, Kriti took to her official Instagram handle sharing a post which spoke about the positives of the film.

Sharing a series of pictures and videos of fans cheering as she appeared on screen in theatres across the country, Kriti captioned the post, "Focusing on the cheers and claps! Jai Siya Ram,” with heart and folded hand emojis.

Soon after Kriti Sanon shared the post, many fans flooded the comments section with criticism.

A user wrote, "Kriti plz accept that the movie was a terrible mistake and move on. One of the worst adaptations of Ramayan I've seen…” Another wrote, "I don't know how people are saying it's a good movie...the worst version of Ramayan I've ever seen and not only me I hope everyone would agree... The story of Ramayan is completely changed and the high-budget animation and you are focusing on the cheers... you guys have to focus on movie and story making.”

Another user wrote, "Let this be a lesson and focus more on the script and story and not the money. Money comes and goes but reputation in this industry is hard to maintain.”

“Today I know why Kattappa killed Baahubali.. because he knew that Prabhas will play Lord Rama in Adipurush,” a user jokingly remarked.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, the All India Cine Workers Association wrote to PM Modi asking him to ban 'Adipurush' in theaters and OTT platforms( in future). "This Movies screenplay and dialogues are clearly defaming the Image of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Adipruush Movie is Hurting religious Sentiments of Hindus and Sanatan Dharma." The letter said.

“Prabhu Shri Ram is God for everyone in India no matter what religious faith one comes from, this Movie Depicts lord Ram and even Ravan who looks like a Character of a video game, with dialogues hurting every Indian in the country and across the Globe. We request Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji order to stop screening this Movie and immediately order a Ban of Adipruush Screening in the Theatres and OTT platforms in the Future." The letter read.
