Squid Game Oh Young Soo Found Guilty Of Sexual Misconduct, Receives 8 Months Prison Sentence

South Korean actor Oh Young-soo is best known for his role as Oh Il Nam in the Netflix survival-thriller series 'Squid Game'.

New Delhi: Globe Globe winning actor Oh Young-soo has been found guilty of sexual misconduct. The South Korean actor is best known for his role as Oh Il Nam in the Netflix survival-thriller series 'Squid Game'.

In 2017, the 79-year-old actor was charged with "groping and kissing a woman." According to reports, the victim accused Oh Young-soo of sexual harassment when she filed a complaint against him in December 2021. On November 22, over a year later, he was found guilty of indecent assault. Oh Young-soo was found guilty by a South Korean court during his most recent court appearance on March 15 of this year.

The New York Times reported that the long-running case of Oh Young-soo was finally resolved by a district court judge in Seongnan, Seoul. The actor was found guilty by the judge of kissing, holding, and holding the woman without asking her permission. According to the most recent information, Oh Young-soo has been asked to participate in a 40-hour programme for sexual violence treatment, according to The New York Times. He has been sentenced to two years of probation and eight months in prison.

Meanwhile, Oh was left off any further casting recommendations after this case got known. His part in an upcoming South Korean film was cut because of his controversial involvement in the case.

According to The New York Times, the prosecutors handling the case declared last month that Oh Young-soo would be seeking a year-long term as well as an indefinite ban from employment if he was found guilty.

Oh Young-soo refuted every allegation made against him by the accuser throughout the lengthy trial. In a statement to Korean broadcaster JTBC, the actor defended his stand by saying that he was only "guiding the way around the lake" by holding the woman's hand.

Oh Young-soo was removed from Squid Game's second season, which was supposed to air later this year.
