BLACKPINK’s Long-Awaited Comeback Tour Overshadowed By Ticket Scam Drama, Here’s What We Know

A man in his thirties, identified as Mr. A, has been arrested in Seoul for selling fake BLACKPINK concert tickets. Read to know more.

After nearly two years away from the spotlight, global K-pop sensations BLACKPINK are gearing up for their much-anticipated return with the Deadline World Tour and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. The electrifying announcement sparked a frenzy, with tickets selling out at lightning speed, proving just how eager audiences are to see Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé back in action.

Known for their record-breaking tours alongside groups like BTS and Seventeen, BLACKPINK concerts have become the hottest ticket in town. Still, the excitement is mixed with concern after a fake ticket scam shook fans and drew media attention.

Police Arrest Man for Selling Fake Tickets

According to a report from AllKpop, authorities in Seoul arrested a man in his thirties, identified only as Mr. A, for allegedly forging and selling counterfeit BLACKPINK concert tickets.

Police from Dongjak Police Station revealed that Mr. A was apprehended on June 17 around 9:20 PM at a café in Dongjak-gu, where he attempted to sell fake tickets to an unsuspecting buyer. The arrest came after a tip-off prompted officers to monitor the suspect closely.

Closer examination of the tickets revealed spelling errors and signs of tampering, raising red flags. Police confirmed the fraudulent nature of the tickets after consulting the official ticketing service.

Investigations uncovered that Mr. A had already sold approximately 500 fake tickets through a resale platform, earning around 80 million KRW (about $58,000 USD) in illicit profits.

Authorities are now probing whether Mr. A operated alone or as part of a larger network, and if he might be linked to additional fraudulent activities. Fans are strongly advised to purchase tickets only through verified and official sources to avoid falling victim to scams.
