Kantara: The Highest-Rated Indian Film On IMDb Gets Praises From Dhanush, Rana Daggubati
After getting an amazing response from viewers, the Kannada film ‘Kantara’ has opened its door to the mass audience with its pan-India release on Friday (October 14).
New Delhi: After getting an amazing response from viewers, the Kannada film ‘Kantara’ has opened its door to the mass audience with its pan-India release on Friday (October 14). The film has got rave reviews from critics, the audience, and even celebrities.
After Anil Kumble, Prashanth Neel, Prithviraj Sukumaran now Dhanush and Rana Daggubati too have praised the film on social media.
Dhanush took to Twitter to call Kantara 'mind blowing' and a 'must watch'. He also said that dorector and actor Rishab Shetty should be proud of himself for what he’s achieved with the movie.
His tweet read: “Kantara .. Mind blowing !! A must watch .. Rishab Shetty , you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations hombale films .. keep pushing the boundaries. A big hug to all the actors and technicians of the film. God bless”
Rana Daggubati called the film extraordinary and tweeted: “Kannada’s @shetty_rishab and @hombalefilms are on what an extraordinary film #Kantara is!! Congratulations to each and everyone who was part of the film! @shetty_rishab truly inspired!!”
The film has also become the highest-rated Indian film on IMDb with a rating of 9.4. It is followed by KGF Chapter 2 (8.4) and SS Rajamouli’s RRR (8).
The movie has also received a record-breaking 99% rating with 35k+ reviews on Bookmyshow. This is the first time in the history of Book My Show that a film has received such a rating.
Set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, Kantara is a visual grandeur that brings alive the traditional culture of Kambala and Bhoota Kola art form to the fore. The soul of the story is on human and nature conflict which is deeply rooted in the coastal culture and folklore of Karnataka. The movie will be released on 800-plus screens across India.
It tells the story of a local demigod (Bhoota) who trades forest land to the tribe's people with a king in exchange for happiness.
Directed and led by Rishab Shetty, the movie also stars Sapthami Gowda in the lead. It also stars Kishore and Achyuth Kumar in pivotal roles.
