Mamta Kulkarni Withdraws Her Resignation As Mahamandaleshwar Of Kinnar Akhara
Mamta Kulkarni, who had earlier announced her resignation from the position of Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara, has now retracted her decision.

Mamta Kulkarni, who had earlier announced her resignation from the position of Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara, has now retracted her decision. She also addressed the allegations of extortion leveled against Acharya Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, dismissing them as baseless.
Mamta Kulkarni takes her resignation back
In a 1-minute 14-second video statement, Mamta explained that she had initially resigned from her position due to the accusations made against her guru, Swami Dr. Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi. However, after reconsideration, she has now withdrawn her resignation.
Clearing the air, Mamta stated that the offerings she had given to her guru were meant for the traditional regalia of Mahamandaleshwar, including the chatra, chadi and chaur. She further clarified that the remaining amount was donated for a community feast (bhandara).
Expressing her gratitude, Mamta, also known as Yamai Mamta Nand Giri, said, "I am thankful to my guru for reinstating me in my position. Moving forward, I will dedicate my life to Kinnar Akhara and Sanatan Dharma."
Mamta Kulkarni's appointment and the controversy around it
Mamta Kulkarni was officially anointed as Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara on January 24, 2024 during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. However, shortly after her induction, she was expelled from the Kinnar Akhara by its founder, Rishi Ajay Das, along with Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi, who had conferred the title upon her.
On February 10, she released a video message announcing her resignation from the post and severing ties with the Kinnar Akhara.
Announcing her resignation, Kulkarni said she took the step after being hurt by the continuous criticism and allegations against her. She held Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati and the head of Ardhanarishwar Dham, Himangi Sakhi, responsible for his resignation.
The actor rose to fame in the 1990s with her blockbuster films like ‘Karan Arjun’ and ‘Baazi.’ A decade later, in the 2000s, she quit the film industry.
