Box Office Day 5: Uunchai, Black Panther Continue To Shine, Yashoda Sees A Drop In Domestic Market

'Uunchai' has been touching new-heights at the box office everyday. 'Yashoda' has done exceptionally well at the US box office while 'Black Pantheris roaring at the box office across the globe.

New Delhi: 'Uunchai' has been touching new-heights at the box office everyday. Meanwhile, Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer 'Yashoda' has done exceptionally well at the US box office even though it has seen a drop in the domestic market. On the other hand, Hollywood giant 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' is roaring at the box office across the globe. The film has also become the second biggest Hollywood debut of 2022.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared 'Uunchiai's box office collection of his official Twitter handle and wrote, "#Uunchai remains rock-steady on Day 5, marginal drop [6.38%] vis-à-vis Day 4… Continues to perform better in evening shows… Eyes ₹ 16.75 cr [+/-] in Week 1… Weekend 2 crucial… Fri 1.81 cr, Sat 3.64 cr, Sun 4.71 cr, Mon 1.88 cr, Tue 1.76 cr. Total: ₹ 13.80 cr. #India biz."

Meanwhile, 'Yashoda' is expected to reach the coveted $1 million mark at the US box office. In the domestic market, the film has managed to sell a little more than Rs. 11 crore worth of tickets in the Telugu states. In Tamil Nadu, 'Yashoda' has failed to make any kind of mark at the box office. The collection in Tamil Nadu stands at Rs. 1.8 crores, the Indian Express reported.

Since 'Yashoda' was a mid-budget film, it has made profits for its financers quite early in its theatre run and probably will recover its cost of production soon. As per reports, the film is also performing better than expected.

Likewise, 'Uunchai' starring stalwarts like Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika, Danny Denzongpa, and Parineeti Chopra also a mid-budget film will recover its COP soon given the trend and word-of-mouth reviews.

As per our in-house review, "Uunchai is like a documentation of what an intense trekking experience amidst the wilderness of Himalayas feels like. This template is then married to the family-entertainment genre of the Barjatya school of filmmaking which emphasises heightened emotions and drama. The Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Parineeti Chopra, Danny Denzongpa, and Sarika starrer is high on emotion, slow in pace, a genre-reverser film about life, relationships and coming to terms with old age."
