Bhool Chuk Maaf Heads To OTT: When & Where To Watch Rajkummar-Wamiqa's Quirky Love Story

Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s time-bending romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 6, 2025.

Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s time-bending romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 6, 2025, just two weeks after its theatrical release—a rare move in today’s OTT landscape. The film originally opened in cinemas on May 23, defying an earlier plan for a digital-first launch.

Initially slated for a direct-to-digital release on May 16, Bhool Chuk Maaf ran into legal trouble when cinema giant PVR Inox filed a ₹60 crore lawsuit against Maddock Films. The producers had cited heightened national security concerns post Operation Sindoor as the reason for bypassing theatres. However, the courts stepped in, resulting in a revised rollout plan: a theatrical release followed by a speedy digital drop—just 14 days later.

Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT Release

  • OTT Release Date: June 6, 2025

  • Platform: Amazon Prime Video

  • Theatrical Release: May 23, 2025

This decision marks a significant deviation from the industry norm, where films typically observe an 8-week theatrical window before hitting OTT platforms.

Box Office Success Despite the Setbacks

Legal wrangling aside, Bhool Chuk Maaf has enjoyed a solid run at the Indian box office, pulling in ₹58.85 crore in its first 10 days. Its quirky blend of sci-fi and romance, combined with compelling performances, seems to have struck a chord with audiences.
