Election 2022 Voting HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome ABP Live for the latest update on polling day from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Goa.

Polling is underway in Uttar Pradesh for the second of seven-phase, while the 70-member Uttarakhand and 40-member Goa assemblies are conducting polls today as well. 

Voters can cast their votes in UP and Goa from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, while polling time in Uttarakhand is from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm

During the 2nd phase of polls in Uttar Pradesh, 55 assembly seats are going to polls from nine districts.

During the 2017 UP assembly polls, BJP bagged 38 out of the 55 seats which are going for polls in this phase while Samajwadi Party won 15 and Congress got the remaining two seats.

In Uttarakhand, a total of 632 candidates are vying for 70 assembly seats.
 
In the 2017 Uttarakhand assembly election, BJP secured a thumping majority capturing 56 seats while Congress could manage to get 11 seats. Two independent candidates were also elected.

In Goa, 301 candidates including 26 women are contesting for 40 assembly seats.
 
In the two-phase assembly elections held in 2017, Congress emerged as the single largest party capturing 17 seats while BJP managed to get 13 seats. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Goa Forward Party bagged three seats each while the Nationalist Congress party got one and the remaining three seats were won by the independent candidates.

Keeping the spread of covid-19 in view, Election Commission decided to allow a maximum of 1,250 electors in a polling station instead of the earlier stipulation of 1,500 electors. Hence, increasing the overall number of polling booths.

Elections 2022 Voting LIVE: Goa Records 78.94% Voter Turnout

Goa on Monday achieved 78.94% voting.

The highest voter turnout was recorded in the Sanquelim constituency at 89.64%. North Goa has registered a maximum turnout of 79% than South Goa at 78%. In today's polling 14 EVM's & 8 ballet were replaced: Goa Chief Electoral Officer Kunal informed, as reported by ANI.

Goa - 78.55%

Uttar Pradesh - 61.20%

Uttarakhand - 59.51%

Elections 2022 Voting LIVE: Goa records 75% voter turnout, UP 60%, Uttarakhand 59% till 5 PM

Goa recorded 75.29% voter turnout and Uttarakhand 59.37% till 5 pm, shows Election Commission data. Uttar Pradesh witnessed 60.44% voting in the second phase of Assembly elections.
