UP Election 2022: Asaduddin Owaisi Forges Alliance With Jan Adhikar Party & Bharat Mukti Morcha
Owaisi said there will be two chief ministers -- one from the OBC community and another from the Dalit community – if the alliance comes to power in Uttar Pradesh.
New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday announced an alliance with Babu Singh Kushwaha’s Jan Adhikar Party and Bharat Mukti Morcha for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Owaisi said there will be two chief ministers -- one from the OBC community and another from the Dalit community – if the alliance comes to power in Uttar Pradesh.
“If the alliance comes to power, there will be 2 CMs - one from OBC community and another from Dalit community. 3 Dy CMs included from the Muslim community,” he said, ANI reported.
There were earlier speculations that the Jan Adhikar Party would enter into an alliance with either the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or the Samajwadi Party for the assembly elections in the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh.
Voting for the 403-member Uttar Pradesh Assembly will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7.
Polling will be held on 58 assembly seats in the first phase on February 10. This will be followed by second phase of polling on 55 seats on February 14.
In the third phase on February 20, 59 assembly seats will go to the polls, while 60 seats will go to polls in the fourth phase on February 23.
Polling will be held on 60 assembly seats in the fifth phase on February 27, 57 seats in the sixth phase on March 3 and 54 seats in the seventh phase on March 7.
The counting of votes will be held on March 10.
