Rahul Gandhi Is 'Pappu', People Laugh When He Speaks About Corruption: Telangana Minister KTR

Telangana Minister KTR Rao slammed Rahul Gandhi's remarks on corruption, claiming that the Congress party is deeply involved in corruption, with Rahul himself under investigation by the ED.

Telangana Minister and BRS leader KT Rama Rao slammed Rahul Gandhi's understanding of history on Saturday, referring to him as 'Pappu'. Rao emphasised the historical context of Nizamabad, where Rahul Gandhi's great-grandfather Nehru allegedly forced Andhra and Telangana to marry. According to Rao, the people of Nizamabad are well-versed in the history of the Congress party.

"Rahul Gandhi does not know history, he is 'Pappu'. The place where Rahul Gandhi had come today, was the same Nizamabad where Rahul Gandhi's great grandfather Nehru ji had forced marriage between Andhra and Telangana. The people here are fully aware of the history of Congress," he is heard saying in a video posted by news agency ANI on X.

Rao dismissed Rahul Gandhi's remarks on corruption, asserting that the Congress party is deeply involved in corruption, with Rahul himself under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

"For the knowledge Rahul Gandhi has about the history of Telangana, I feel sorry for him. He simply doesn't know what actually is happening in Telangana. If Rahul Gandhi talks about corruption today, people will laugh because the Congress party is immersed in corruption. Rahul himself is under ED investigation," he said.

"I just want to say to Rahul Gandhi and his party that you and your party should first apologise to the people of Telangana and then ask for votes," he added further.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi claimed that his party deflated the BJP's four tyres in Telangana and promised to do the same in Delhi. He reminded voters that BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao attended a Congress-built school and university.

Rahul Gandhi framed the upcoming election as a battle between a 'Dorala Sarkar' (feudal government) and a 'Prajala Sarkar' (people's government), accusing Rao of betraying people's hopes for a pro-poor and farmer government. Rao was accused by Gandhi of stealing Rs 1 lakh crore from the Kaleswaram irrigation project.

Gandhi also accused BRS legislators of stealing Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu scheme beneficiaries and acquiring lands in the name of computerization and Dharani. He contrasted this with the Congress party's claim that during its tenure, it distributed lands to the poor with proper rights.

Rahul Gandhi also claimed that the BRS government diverted Rs 5500 crore from the ST and SC subplans. In Telangana, the election between the ruling BRS, Congress, and BJP is scheduled for November 30.
