TDP Announces Final List Of Candidates For 9 Assembly & 4 LS Seats, Prabhakar Reddy's Supporters Vandalise Party Office

Former minister Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao has been nominated to contest against Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana of the YSR Congress in Cheepururpalli.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) announced the final list of candidates for nine Assembly seats (MLAs) and four Lok Sabha seats (MPs) on Friday. Former minister Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao has been nominated to contest against Education Minister Botcha Satyanarayana of YSR Congress in Cheepururpalli, while another former minister, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, will be vying for Bhimili seat.

The TDP also announced its candidates for other Assembly seats, which include Killu Venkata Ramesh from Padełu (ST), Dr. Gottipati Lakshmi from Darsi, Sugavasi Subrahmanyam from Rajampet, Veerabhadra Goud from Alur, Gummanur Jairam from Guntakal, Daggupati Venkateshwara Prasad from Anantapur Urban, and Kandikunta Venkata Prasad from Kadiri, according to a report on ANI.

In the Lok Sabha elections, the TDP has nominated Kalisetty Appala Naidu from Vizianagaram, Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy from Ongole, Ambika Lakshminarayana from Anantapur and Chadipiralla Bhupesh Reddy from Kadapa.

TDP Workers Stage Protest Over Seat Allocation

As soon as the final list of candidates were released, TDP workers vandalised Ananthapuram Party office. The workers staged a protest over ticket denial to TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy, for the upcoming elections.

Meanwhile, the TDP, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) reached a seat-sharing agreement in Andhra Pradesh, which comprises 25 Lok Sabha seats and 175 Assembly seats.

Apart from the 17 Lok Sabha seats, the TDP was assigned 144 constituencies in the state's Assembly elections. As per the agreement, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan's Janasena will contest in two Lok Sabha seats and 21 Assembly seats. 

Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha Elections are scheduled concurrently on May 13.
