Saif Ali Khan Attack: If there are Bangladeshis in Mumbai, who is responsible? Asks Sanjay Raut

Ahead of polls in Mumbai and Delhi, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut accuses BJP of neglecting illegal Bangladeshi immigrants until now and taking up the issue during elections.

In the backdrop of attack on actor Saif Ali Khan and ahead of Mumbai Municipal Elections, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut has accused Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government for neglecting the issue of Bangladeshis earlier, and now worring about it during the time of elections, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Questioning the Union Home Minister and Defence Minister on the issue, the senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader asked how Rohingyas and Bangladeshis entered the country, while the ministers were in power.

He added that the law and order situation in the India's financial capital is fine and the BJP is creating a fear because of Mumbai Municipal Polls. He has also questioned Delhi L-G of writing letters now, while nothing was done about it in the last 10 years.

Raut, as quoted by news agency ANI, said, "The security is fine in Mumbai. The BJP is creating fear because of the Mumbai municipal elections...  If there are Bangladeshis in Mumbai, then who is responsible? The Union Home Minister... What are the Union Home Minister and Defence Minister doing?... They are worried about the Bangladeshis at the time of the elections. Why did they not think of it earlier?... They have been in power and they must answer how Rohingyas and Bangladeshis entered our country. The LG is writing letters now, could he not see the Rohingyas and Bangladeshis in the last 10 years?..."

Earlier, Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena raised significant concerns over the involvement of illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants in criminal activities, following a recent attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in Mumbai. The incident saw a Bangladeshi national implicated in a house break-in and assault and has prompted LG Saxena to write a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner, urging immediate action to identify such infiltrators.
