Rajasthan Polls: Priyanka Gandhi Set To Make 'Big Announcement' For Homemakers In 3rd Rally, Says CM Gehlot

This will be Priyanka Gandhi's third rally in last one and half months in Rajasthan. Earlier, she addressed public meetings in Tonk and Dausa districts.

New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is likely to make some announcements for the homemakers during an election rally in Jhunjhunu district in poll-bound Rajasthan on Wednesday, news agency PTI reported. This is her third rally in Rajasthan in the last one and half months. Earlier she held public meetings at Niwai in Tonk district on September 10 and Sikrai in Dausa on October 20.

Taking to X on Tuesday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot posted, “Special information for the women of Rajasthan. Tomorrow, Priyanka Gandhi will make some big announcements for the homemakers of Rajasthan in Jhunjhunu.”

According to reports, the Jhunjhunu rally will be addressed by Priyanka Gandhi and CM Ashok Gehlot.

The Congress had earlier announced that an event would be organised to unveil the statue of former Union Minister Shishram Ola in Jhunjhunu on October 25. A programme has also been held in Ardavat village on the occasion.

Notably, the grand old party is seeking to retain power on the strength of the work done over the last five years and the welfare schemes announced by the Gehlot government.

Voting for the 200-member assembly in Rajasthan will be held in a single phase on November 25. The results will be announced on December 3.

Earlier on Sunday, the Congress announced the names of 43 candidates in its second list.

Among the prominent leaders, the party fielded Govind Ram Meghwal from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines, and Parsadi Lal Meena from the Lolsot constituency.

In its first list, the Congress had announced the names of party heavyweights, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot. While Gehlot was fielded from Sadarpura, his former deputy Pilot will contest from Tonk.

The Congress has so far announced the names of 76 candidates for the upcoming state polls.
