Priyanka Gandhi was addressing an election rally in Jhunjhunu district in poll-bound Rajasthan.
New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party at Centre saying the government has money to waive loans for big businessmen and build a new Parliament in the country but not for waving loans for farmers and old pension scheme.
The party promised that it will provide gas cylinder at Rs 500 for 1.05 crore families if re-elected to power and Rs 10,000 to women head of the family.
Addressing an election rally in Jhunjhunu district in poll-bound Rajasthan, Priyanka said, "Today's government (Central govt) is promoting only two businessmen. Airports, ports, and PSUs are being provided to them...They are not generating any employment opportunities. They don't have vision, roadmap."
"PM Modi's 'Lifafa' is empty. He had talked about reservation for women but it would be implemented after 10 years. They said reservation for women but it will be implemented after 10 years. They are not talking about the Caste census. They promised the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ECRP) but nothing was done. Their promises are hollow. All Congress governments are implementing all their promises," she added.
Accusing the BJP of indulging in politics of religion, she said, "Those doing politics on the basis of religion have no accountability as they think that religion-based politics will help them garner votes instead of working for the people."
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Former Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Sachin Pilot were also present at the event. Pilot asserted that the party will come back with a greater majority this time.
Earlier taking to X, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot posted, “Special information for the women of Rajasthan. Tomorrow, Priyanka Gandhi will make some big announcements for the homemakers of Rajasthan in Jhunjhunu.”
This is Priyanka Gandhi’s third rally in Rajasthan in the last one and half months. Earlier she held public meetings at Niwai in Tonk district on September 10 and Sikrai in Dausa on October 20.
It is to be noted that the grand old party is seeking to retain power on the strength of the work done over the last five years and the welfare schemes announced by the Gehlot government.
Voting for the 200-member assembly in Rajasthan will be held in a single phase on November 25. The results will be announced on December 3.
