Rahul Gandhi Walked With Headley's Supporters, Owaisi Scaring His Own People: Smriti Irani Slams Opposition

Union Minister Smriti Irani has hit out at opposition leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, Arvind Kejriwal and Asaduddin Owaisi.

Union Minister Smriti Irani has slammed Congress MP Rahul Gandhi saying that he defines religion according to election or politics. She said that perhaps he has no ability to define ‘Sanatan Dharma’.

While speaking to ABP News she said, “If Rahul Gandhi had any respect for women, he would have made a woman his party’s president instead of Kharge. But he cannot give this power to anyone but his mother.

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s confidence regarding Gujarat and Himachal elections, she said that had Rahul Gandhi had so much faith in himself, he would not have disappeared from the Gujarat and Himachal elections.  “He is intentionally not coming here so that no one can blame him for the defeat,“ she added.

On Bharat Jodo Yatra

Questioning Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra, Irani said if anyone thinks India is divided from anywhere. She said, “Rahul Gandhi walked with those people in Karnataka whose family had supported David Headley. He clearly hinted why he is with them.”

Reacting to Ashok Gehlot’s statement that Congress is gaining from the Bharat Jodo Yatra, she said that cow slaughtering is prohibited in Sanatan Dharma but In Madhya Pradesh, Gandhi walked with those who slaughter cows.

“This election is not about winning or losing, it is about the love of the people of Gujarat for their son Narendra Modi. Perhaps this is the first instance when the Gandhi family has separated itself from Gujarat elections,” Irani added.

On ‘Aukat’ And ‘Ravan’ Statement Of Congress

Smirti Irani took on Congress for its ‘Aukat’ and ‘Ravan’ jibe at PM Modi. She said, “If Gandhi family has such a big status, I ask them to bring their whole family to Gujarat and then they will know who has higher prestige.”

She said, “Yesterday, Ashok Gehlot was giving 3-3 deputy CMs.” She asked if it is not an attempt to divide society.

“I have a suggestion for Ashok Gehlot Ji, that first, he should see his mismanaged home where Pilot Sahab is quite angry,” she added.

 On Arvind Kejriwal’s Statement

Irani said that she had once seen Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s press conference in which he said that all employment would be closed when Arvind Kejriwal will come to power. “Don’t know if he was telling the truth or he mistakenly spoke the truth,” she said.

She further said, “Kejriwal has once tested Narendra Modi in Kashi. The way Kejriwal has behaved towards Narendra bhai, it is the humbleness of Narendra bhai that no bitterness was ever seen in his behaviour towards Arvind Kejriwal.”

The minister added that on the instruction of Arvind Kejriwal, the words that the Aam Aadmi Party leaders in Gujarat used for PM Modi’s mother are not acceptable to anyone.

Smriti Irani’s Take On Asaduddin Owaisi

Irani also hit out at AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his statement on Uniform Civil Code. She said, “Who is he trying to scare? He is scaring the people of his community. No BJP leader has given any statement that people of one religion should get converted to another.”

“In which religious matter did we intervene? If a law is violated anywhere and the law is enforced there, how can it be an intervention? If there is a need for one law for every Indian in India, then what is wrong with it?”

She asked if Owaisi wants to have a separate law for any one specific class.
