'Naming 2 Friends To Save Him From...': Rahul Gandhi's Jibe At PM Modi Over 'Tempo Loads Of Money' Claim

Rahul Gandhi stated that PM Modi never mentioned the names of industrialists Adani and Ambani in the last decade, but is doing so now as he is "scared" and is "naming his two friends" to "save him".

Adding to the mounting row that was sparked following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's allegations of a clandestine deal between Congress and industrialists Adani and Ambani, Congress MP and party's candidate from Wayanad and Raebareli, Rahul Gandhi stated that PM Modi never mentioned the names of industrialists Adani and Ambani in the last decade but is doing so now as he is "scared" and is "naming his friends" to "save him".

Suggesting why PM Modi must have named the industrialists, the Wayanad MP said: "When someone gets scared, he takes the names of people who, he thinks, can save them. So, Narendra Modi took the names of two of his friends - "Save me, INDIA alliance has cornered me, I am losing. Adani-Ambani, save me." That is why Narendra Modi took their names."

While addressing a public rally in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh on Friday, Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at PM Modi over his recent remarks on Congress, claiming that "PM has personal experience of the tempo" and therefore "knows Adani sends money in tempos".

The former Congress president slammed the PM after he launched scathing attacks at the grand old party, alleging there was a deal between the party and industrialists Adani and Ambani. The PM had also questioned Congress if it received "tempo loads of black money " from these Indian industrialists.

After asking PM Modi to send the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation teams to probe Adani and Ambani, Rahul Gandhi on Friday stated: "In 10 years, Narendra Modi never mentioned the names of Adani and Ambani. He gave thousands of speeches in 10 years but he never took their names."

Turning the tables at the PM and launching a counter-attack, Rahul Gandhi stated: "He (PM Modi) even knows how Adani sends money in a tempo. Prime Minister has personal experience of the tempo. Now, BJP, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah will attempt to divert your attention. For the next 10-15 days they will try to divert your attention...Don't get distracted. There is just one issue in the General Elections in India, all issues arise out of it - Constitution of India."

Talking about the Constitution of India and claiming that BJP will "cancel" it, the Raebareli candidate also stated that "This book (Constitution) has provided rights to poor, backward, Dalits, tribals, labourers, small farmers...This has been given by Gandhi ji and Ambedkar ji. BJP has made up its mind to cancel this Constitution if they win the elections. Akhilesh Yadav and I have decided that no force in the world, let alone the BJP, can touch this."
