'Surreal Circus': Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar Criticises Cong Over Rahul Gandhi's 'Shakti' Remark

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar's comment come in response to Rahul Gandhi's statement at an I.N.D.I.A rally in Mumbai where Gandhi questioned the concept of 'Shakti' (might) and its implications.

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar lambasted the Congress party labeling their recent actions as resembling a "surreal circus." His comments come in response to Rahul Gandhi's statement at an I.N.D.I.A rally in Mumbai where Gandhi questioned the concept of 'Shakti' (might) and its implications. Chandrasekhar criticised Gandhi's approach, particularly highlighting the irony of attacking 'Shakti' while being the sitting MP, during an election focused on selecting the next MP and diverting voters' attention from pertinent election issues.

Addressing the reporters after visiting St. Joseph's Metropolitan Cathedral in Thiruvananthapuram, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, "Everything about the Congress is beginning to look like a surreal circus because on one day Rahul Gandhi will attack 'Shakti' in Mumbai without knowing what that means...He is the sitting MP. This is an election to elect the next MP and he wants the voters to think about something else. I don't understand his logic."

"This newly found strategy by the Congress to criticize their own INDI alliance partner CPM, CPI. What that game is I don't know. Except to say these are the two parties who have more commonality than any other two parties in India. They both have MoUs with China. They both want Narendra Modi to be toppled and they both today are in an alliance to keep Kerala and Thiruvananthapuram behind," he said.

The comment came after a statement by Rahul Gandhi which ignited a controversial at I.N.D.I.A rally in Mumbai. The Congress MP asked, “There is a word 'Shakti' (might) in Hindi. We are fighting against a Shakti (might of the state). The question is, what is that Shakti and what does it entail for us?”
