The four phases across which polling was held in Odisha for the assembly seats were May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1.
To attain majority in the Odisha Assembly, a party has to win 74 seats out of the 147 seats.
Out of the 147 constituencies in Odisha, 24 are reserved for the Scheduled Castes. Another 33 seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes.
The Biju Janata Dal, led by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, has been ruling the state since 2000. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party has given a tough fight to the BJD, seeking to attain victory in the state.

On May 25, Odisha had recorded 74.44 percent voting turnout till the third phase. In the last phase, which was held on June 1, the Odisha Assembly election recorded a voter turnout of 70.67 per cent. This outcome was less than the 73.20 percent turnout achieved in the Odisha Assembly Election 2019.
What Exit Polls Say
According to the India Today- Axis My India exit polls, the BJP is predicted to gain political ground in Odisha, bagging 62 to 80 seats in the Odisha Assembly elections.
CM Patnaik's BJD, on the other hand, will also likely get 62-80 seats as well.
If the exit poll turns out to be true, this would be the first time that BJD might not win with a landslide victory, which would a problematic situation for the five-time CM Patnaik, who has retained Odisha since 2004.
In the Lok Sabha elections too, the BJP is projected to win 18-20 seats while the BJD might win mere 0 to 2 seats, as per the Axis My India exit poll.
