'Filed Nomination Without Mother's Blessings For The First Time': PM Modi Says At 'Nari Shakti Samvad' In Varanasi

PM Modi, while interacting with over 25,000 women in Varanasi, said his mother is 'Maa Ganga' (Mother Ganga) and added that 'Maa Ganga' has adopted him.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that this is the first time when he has filed his nomination in Varanasi without his mother.

PM Modi, while interacting with over 25,000 women during the 'Nari Shakti Samvad' programme in Varanasi, said his mother is 'Maa Ganga' (Mother Ganga) and added that 'Maa Ganga' has adopted him.

"This is the first time I have filed my nomination for Kashi without the blessings of my mother. Maa Ganga is my mother that is why I said that Maa Ganga had first called me to Kashi and now Maa Ganga has adopted me," PM Modi said.

Attacking the opposition over 'Shakti row', PM Modi said that after June 4, the BJP government will make 'shakti' into 'maha shakti'.

"Leaders of the INDI alliance openly say that they will destroy the energy in Hindus, but after June 4, Modi government will make your 'shakti' as 'maha shakti'...I am continuously working for the public without stopping or getting tired," PM Modi said in Varanasi.

He further accused the Congress and SP government of neglecting the women and said their mentality is anti-women.

"What did the Congress and SP governments do to women... They only neglected them. The mentality of the INDI alliance is anti-women. The INDI Alliance opposes Women's Reservations," he said.

Earlier in the day, while addressing a rally in Bihar, PM Modi said the people of the country were his successors as he did not have any other successor.

"Modi is a person who does not have any personal "virasat" (legacy). For me, you are my legacy, you are my successors. I don't have any other successor. So, I have to work very hard to ensure a bright future for you and your children," he said.
