Ahead Of Maharashtra CM Swear-In BJP Troubleshooter Has Late-Night Chat With Eknath Shinde

Maharashtra CM's swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for December 5. However, the Mahayuti is yet to formally announce the name of the next Chief Minister.

Maharashtra CM News: Over 10 days have passed since the Mahayuti's historic victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, but the Mahayuati has not been able to formally announce the name of its Chief Minister. Even the swearing-in ceremony has been scheduled for December 5 with no clarity on the matter.

While speculation of a disgruntled Eknth Shinde, who, sources say, has been relegated from the CM's post, is doing the rounds. Amid this, BJP's Girish Mahajan, also known as the saffron party's "troubleshooter, met caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Monday, December 2. The meeting before the formation of the government has sparked further buzz in the political circles of Maharashtra.

After the meeting with Eknath Shinde, Girish Mahajan said, "Eknath Shinde has been unwell for the past few days. So, I came to meet him. There is no displeasure. We sat together for an hour and had a conversation. He also discussed preparations for the December 5 swearing-in and I shared my views. We have a lot of work to do for the people of the state. We are going to work together for the people."

However, it is worth noting that the suspense over the name of the Chief Minister after the Mahayuati won a landslide victory in the Maharashtra Assembly elections is nearly over. According to sources, former Maharashtra CM BJP's Devendra Fadnavis will return as the CM. The BJP emerged as the largest party with 132 seats. Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde and NCP's Ajit Pawar will be Deputy Chief Ministers, the sources said. But no formal announcement has been made yet.
