The counting of votes will begin shortly, and the fate of the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assemblies will be unlocked in some time. Looking at the positive trend given by various pollsters, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started preparing for their victory. Generally in India, Laddus are the main focus when celebrating or sharing some auspicious news. However, at the BJP headquarters, it was seen that fresh Jalebis are taking centre stage ahead of the victory bugle.

Ahead of the counting, most exit polls have predicted a victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in the Maharashtra assembly elections, though some surveys suggested a strong performance by the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition. For Jharkhand, most exit polls have forecast a win for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), where the majority mark is 41 in the 81-member assembly. The ruling coalition of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress faces stiff competition as results are awaited.
