'Moorkhon Ke Sardar': PM Modi Takes A Swipe At Rahul Gandhi Over 'Made In China' Remark — WATCH

Without directly naming Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi sharply criticised him as "moorkhon ke sardar" in response to his comment that commodities in India were mostly 'made in China.'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress during consecutive rallies in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, expressing confidence in the BJP's consecutive term. Addressing a gathering in Betul district, PM Modi sharply criticised Rahul Gandhi, referring to him as "moorkhon ke sardar" (the leader of stupid people). This retort came in response to Rahul Gandhi's recent comment that commodities in India were mostly 'made in China.'

In response, PM Modi highlighted India's achievement in exporting mobile phones worth over Rs 1 lakh crore and accused Congress leaders of ignoring this progress.

"A 'mahagyani' from Congress yesterday said people of India have 'Made in China' phones...moorkhon ke sardar (king of fools)...in which world do they live. They have the disease of not seeing their country's progress. India has become the second largest manufacturer of mobile phones in the world," he remarked without directly naming the Wayanad MP.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in an election rally said, "If you see behind a mobile phone, shirt, below your shoes, you can see that it is made in China. Have you ever seen 'Made in Madhya Pradesh' behind any camera or shirt? No, you haven't. This is what we want to do."

"I want to ensure that our government gives employment to lakhs of youth in factories and one day comes when a youth in China sees Made in Madhya Pradesh behind his phone. He may wonder which place has turned Made in China to Made in Madhya Pradesh," he added.

Meanwhile, PM Modi also asserted that some Congress leaders are "sitting at home" and don't feel like going out, emphasising their detachment from the people.

He remarked that Congress has acknowledged its fake promises stand no chance against "Modi's guarantees". The Prime Minister urged voters to use the election as an opportunity to curb corruption and loot by the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, remarking that the party brings destruction wherever it goes.

Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: PM Modi In Shajapur

In another rally at Shajapur, PM Modi declared that a storm was blowing in favor of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, expressing confidence in uprooting Congress from the state. He highlighted India's global praise for developmental initiatives and its fifth-ranking economy globally. PM Modi vowed to elevate the country's economy among the top three globally during his third term.

"I can see a large number of people attending this meeting with many of them standing out in the sun as the arrangements made for the rally fell a little short as compared to the turnout. A storm is blowing in the state that will uproot Congress's 'tambu' (tent) in the state," he said, as quoted by news agency PTI.

"In my third term (as the prime minister), I will take the country's economy among the top three in the world," Modi stated.

He also mentioned the upcoming food processing park in Shajapur, expected to benefit farmers and transform the district into a major industrial hub.

Taking a dig at Congress, PM Modi accused the party of corruption, asserting that its sole agenda is to loot and commit atrocities, focusing on negativity.

He noted the BJP's efforts to make education accessible by introducing medical and engineering courses in Hindi, emphasising the party's commitment to empowering the poor.

The Prime Minister concluded by referencing Diwali and anticipating a second celebration on December 3, the day of vote counting in the upcoming assembly polls.
