Country's Biggest Leader Given Up Morality, Does Not Walk On Path Of Truth: Priyanka Gandhi Attacks PM Modi

Addressing the now-defunct electoral bonds scheme, Priyanka raised concerns about its transparency, alleging that companies subject to raids donated to the BJP, followed by the closure of their cases.

New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the biggest leader of the country has given up morality, does drama before people and does not walk on the path of truth. She alleged that the government's actions aimed to stifle opposition voices, citing instances of freezing bank accounts and incarcerating two chief ministers.

“There was a time when a leader would stand up, and people of the country expected him to be an ethical person. They would expect morality from him but today the biggest leader of the country has given up morality and does drama before you,” Priyanka said, addressing a public meeting in this district headquarters town, reported news agency PTI.

In a poignant critique, Priyanka Gandhi highlights a stark contrast in leadership ethos, lamenting a departure from the once-held expectation of truthfulness in governance. She observes a shift where the paramount leader of the nation prioritises displays of power, pride, and celebrity status over a commitment to truth.

Addressing the now-defunct electoral bonds scheme, Priyanka raised concerns about its transparency, alleging that companies subject to raids donated to the BJP, followed by the closure of their cases.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stressed on a connection between the conversion of black money into white during demonetisation, saying, “It is now clear how the black money was made white through demonetisation and then it was deposited in BJP’s account".

She expressed incredulity over the discrepancy between the financial capacities of certain companies, unable to earn even Rs 100 crore, and their substantial donations amounting to Rs 1,100 crore to the BJP under the electoral bond scheme. She said, "The opposition is targeted by calling them corrupt but the reality is that the BJP is corrupt and it has misled the country in the past 10 years".

Accusing the BJP of corruption and misleading the nation over the past decade, she urged caution in response to BJP leaders' discussions about altering the Constitution, warning of potential impacts on citizens' lives.
