BJP Manifesto Committee to Hold First Meeting Today
The BJP's 27-member manifesto committee, formed for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, is set to hold its inaugural meeting today at the party headquarters at 10:45 am. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chairs the committee, with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as the convener and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal as the co-convener. The committee includes several Union ministers, chief ministers, and former deputy chief ministers.

Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament, Dharamvir Gandhi, is expected to join the Congress party today in Delhi. He is likely to be nominated as a Congress candidate from Patiala.
Congress Central Election Committee to Meet Today
The Congress Central Election Committee is scheduled to convene at the party headquarters today at 11 am. Following Sunday's meeting, sources indicate that Mohammad Javed may be fielded as the candidate from Kishanganj, Bihar, while Tarique Anwar could be nominated from Katihar. The decision for Bhagalpur is still pending.

Owaisi Should Also Visit Families Of Those 'Killed' By Mukhtar Ansari, Says BJP MLA
Taking exception to AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi visiting the home of Mukhtar Ansari and expressing condolences over the death of the gangster-politician, BJP MLA in Telangana Raja Singh on Monday said the Hyderabad MP should also visit the family members of those who were allegedly killed by Ansari.
In a video release, Singh said Owaisi and other leaders who condoled the demise of Ansari should understand the pain of the family members of those who were allegedly killed by the gangster-politician. Is it correct for the leaders to stand in support of such a person, he asked.
"Asaduddin Owaisi going to his residence and expressing condolence, is it correct? People should think about it," Singh, MLA from Goshamahal here, said. Owaisi visited the Ghazipur home of gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari to offer condolences to his family.
EC Team Holds Meeting With Punjab Officials To Review Preparedness For Lok Sabha Polls
A five-member team of the Election Commission (EC) on Monday held a meeting with the administration and police officials in Punjab to review the preparedness for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to an official release. The EC team was led by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner Hirdesh Kumar. Deputy Election Commissioner Ajay Bhadoo, Principal Secretary S B Joshi, Secretary Soumyajit Ghosh and Under Secretary K P Joshi were part of the team.
The meeting was chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Anurag Verma, the release said. During the meeting, Verma and Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Sibin C said no stone will be left unturned to conduct free and fair elections in Punjab.
SP Replaces Khajuraho Lok Sabha Candidate
The Samajwadi Party on Monday replaced its Khajuraho Lok Sabha candidate Manoj Yadav rpt Manoj Yadav with former MLA Meera Deep Narayan Yadav.
Meera Yadav will take on Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party chief and sitting MP VD Sharma. Polls on the seat, which is the only one allotted in the state to the Akhilesh Yadav-led SP by the Congress under an agreement between the two parties, will take place on April 26. "The change was made to pit a powerful and local candidate against the BJP," SP national spokesperson Yash Bhartiya told PTI over phone. VD Sharma had won from Khajuraho in 2019 with a margin of more than 4.5 lakh votes.
Meera Yadav had won from Niwari assembly seat, which is part of Khajurahao Lok Sabha constituency, on an SP ticket in 2008. Her husband Deep Narayan Yadav was SP MLA in 2007 and 2012 from Garautha in Jhansi in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. It shares a border with MP's Niwari district. Deep Yadav has also been MP SP chief.
Lok Sabha Election Dates In Rajasthan
Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan will be held in two phases on April 19 and 26. In the first phase, voting will be held on April 19 for 12 seats - Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur.
In the second phase, voting will be held on April 26 for 13 seats - Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota and Jhalawar-Baran.
