'Dar Gaya?': BJP Mocks As Congress Fields Rahul Gandhi From Wayanad, Slams DK Suresh's Candidature

The Congress released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Friday.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: As Congress released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, reactions started to pour in from the Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP slammed the grand old party for fielding Rahul Gandhi from Wayanad for second straight time while maintaining silence over rumoured second candidature from Amethi. In a post on X, BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya took a swipe at Gandhi and said, "Rahul Gandhi won't contest from Amethi? Scared?"

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi and bagged the Amethi seat, known as a Gandhi bastion.

Malviya also slammed the Congress for fielding DK Suresh and said, "DK Suresh, brother of Karnataka DCM DK Shivkumar, who called for a ‘separate’ South India, has been given a ticket, again, from Bengaluru Rural. India’s balkanisation is Congress’s unfinished agenda. Beware of them."

Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar also took a potshot at Rahul Gandhi, saying that he cannot contest from any other seat anywhere in the country and can only come to Wayanad.

"All the best to them (Congress). Rahul Gandhi cannot contest from any other seat anywhere in the country. He can only come to Wayanad and we all know why...I think the people of Kerala this time will not give the Congress the mandate they gave in the last election... The people of India want a third term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Chandrashekhar said.
